the NED show

The NED Show

This term we were able to watch the NED show for free! The show was about how we need to behave to other people, the 'N' in Ned stands for 'never give up. The 'E' stands for 'encourage others', and finally the 'D' stands for 'do your best'. There was a man that came to our school and he told us a story about how he got to our school, he also showed us some cool yo-yo tricks. Then he told us to be kind and why to be kind to others. cross country

        Cross Country

On Monday 6th august we did the amazing but tiring cross country. Along  with the cross country there were taraco sticks,blindfold games,soccer balls,indoor games, and warming up for the cross country. Finally when it was the year 5 girl's turn we went  nervously to the starting line. 3 2 1 Go!!!!!!!! we shot off past the starting line, we ran behind the trees, went down the hill, jumped over the hurdles, went back up the hill went around the pole and through some ladders that were lying on the floor , zigzagged some trees,, went around the playground and on the pathway right to the bush. Went up a different hill back down, around the pool, through the  bush, and back to the point where we started. We did that 2 times . My fried Abigail came second, I am not know what place i came in . My other friend jia came after me. we all drank a lot of water and since we all were so tiered we went to the cupcake stall and got a cupcake each. jia and me got a chocolate cupcake and abigail got a sprinkles cupcake. technology work

In week 1,week 2 & week 3 of term 3, we did a technology rotation. We did all the activities in our class groups.There were 3 activities, the first one was with Mr Riceman ( my teacher ), we got a battery, a LED light, tin foil, paper clips, push pins & tapes. We had to make the light work, if we could already do that, we had to make a switch as well to turn the light on & off. The next activity was with Mr Rattenbury. We had to make a marble sit out from a table as long as possible. We were not allowed to use any support from the ground. The final activity was with Ms Sands, we made geoboards. First we measured & cut the pieces of wood by ourselves with a saw! Then we had to mark dots 2 cm from every other dots. If you did it correctly you would have 25 dots then you had to go outside & hammer nails into the dots. Then when that was done, we took it inside and we made patterns on it with rubber bands.

Worm stop motion animation

In class we  did a stop motion animation with sticks and playdough and Lego. This is an app called  stop motion animator, we used the app to create a movie. We had 40 minutes to make a stop-motion-animation. In the stop motion animator, you had to take a photo, move the object a little, take a picture move the object a little and then you keep going until you have finished your movie.I found this a bit hard because I could not mould the playdough properly, but I really enjoyed making this movie! This
