 my hometown

Auckland

Auckland is my home town, it is beautiful and peaceful. the skyscrapers reach towards the sky and the parks swarm with people. the sky tower is also in the city centre in Auckland. 

the houses are neatly arranged and all the shops and restaurants are there . the malls are full  of shops with clothing, accessories toys supplies and tools. plus they have food shops like dunking donuts . there are nail art shops , hair and beauty shops and much much more. Auckland is a beautiful, peaceful and fabulous place to be!

fun facts about new zealand

For  the first activity for the summer learning journey, we had to blog three different fun facts about new zealand. Here are my fabulous fun facts about New Zealand. 

1- the Maori name of new zealand is aoteraoa, that means

 the land of the long white cloud

2-there are absolutely no snakes in New Zealand!

3- really popular films such as lord of the rings, the whale rider and 

the piano were all filmed in new zealand

united arab emirates

United Arab emirates

Today (3rd of December) we had to do an activity, we had to pick a country out of Australia, Canada, Chile, England, Germany, Japan , Malasia, Mexico, South Africa and United Arab Emirates.


I want to visit United Arab Emirates because I want to go shopping at the malls and UAE has a lot of malls and shopping centres. Plus they have lots of  restaurants. another reason to go is because it has real GOLD atm's at the malls! Another reason to go there is because of the camel rinding, jet skiing, diving and all the other active things to do. There is also heaps of entertainment.

Novel study

For reading this week we had to do a novel study,so our reading teachers gave us a choice of four books [they were, jonty and choc,dead harry,dunger and a book of stories] and I  picked dunger.The book is about  a girl named Melissa ans a boy named William that are going to their grandparents to have a Holiday for ten days. There is no Internet or cellphone reception,and they do not like it because of that they have to cancel their trip to queenstown that they have been really looking forward to,here is a page of my work:

I am really looking foward to see what happens at the end of the book.

the NED show

The NED Show

This term we were able to watch the NED show for free! The show was about how we need to behave to other people, the 'N' in Ned stands for 'never give up. The 'E' stands for 'encourage others', and finally the 'D' stands for 'do your best'. There was a man that came to our school and he told us a story about how he got to our school, he also showed us some cool yo-yo tricks. Then he told us to be kind and why to be kind to others. cross country

        Cross Country

On Monday 6th august we did the amazing but tiring cross country. Along  with the cross country there were taraco sticks,blindfold games,soccer balls,indoor games, and warming up for the cross country. Finally when it was the year 5 girl's turn we went  nervously to the starting line. 3 2 1 Go!!!!!!!! we shot off past the starting line, we ran behind the trees, went down the hill, jumped over the hurdles, went back up the hill went around the pole and through some ladders that were lying on the floor , zigzagged some trees,, went around the playground and on the pathway right to the bush. Went up a different hill back down, around the pool, through the  bush, and back to the point where we started. We did that 2 times . My fried Abigail came second, I am not know what place i came in . My other friend jia came after me. we all drank a lot of water and since we all were so tiered we went to the cupcake stall and got a cupcake each. jia and me got a chocolate cupcake and abigail got a sprinkles cupcake.
