Family fun day

On Friday, we all went to school in put house colours ( Pukeko-green, Ruru-blue, Kea-red and Tui-Yellow). First, Pukeko went down to Molley Green and we played in the park, played a little basketball game and finally we did a bean-bag game. We all had so much fun. Finally, we went back to the school grounds. After we reached the school grounds, we all got out our wheels. I brought my wheelies. Jia forgot to bring some wheels so Abigail (my other friend) lent her scooter. We all had the whole court to use our wheels on. Me and My friend Jia glided and talked the whole way through, occasionally having a little race. Then it was lunchtime. We all hurried over to the hall to get some things from the bake sale. I got a brownie and Jia got a piece of Chocolate cake. My other friend Abigail got an anzac biscuit with chocolate drizzle. We all peacefully ate lunch. The 3rd activity was Swimming. We divided into two groups, My group went into the pool first. we had free time, I spent my free time diving to the bottom of the pool. After 30 minutes of free time, we swapped, it was time to go on the waterslide! We all had to wait in a long line, but it was worth waiting for. Soap and water was put on the big sheet of plastic to make a waterslide. There were some cushions at the bottom of the water slide to stop us from going any further into the grass. After another very fun 30 minutes, we had to stop, and get changed. The final activity was the bouncy castle. We all had races on the bouncy castle. I think my favourite activity was the bouncy castle. then in second place was swimming, then water slide,then wheels zones and finally Molley green.At the end of the day, we all went home.

the cristchurch tragedy

The Christchurch tragedy    

On Friday the 15th of March, a tragedy occurred in Christchurch. There was one man who decided to shoot Muslim people while they were praying in their mosques. The man shot people at two different mosques. 50 people died and more than 20 were injured. This caused a lot of work, the ambulance had to arrive, the doctors had to struggle to cure the injured and the police had to arrive at the crime scene. Schools, workplaces and offices had to go into lockdown for 5 hours! Everyone was suffering. The shooting caused a lot of sadness and shock to people all over New Zealand. Other people from different countries donated money and the Prime Minister is making new gun laws. There is also a site called givealittle, where you can donate money. In school, we have been doing heaps of things because of the Christchurch incident. We have had a special assembly, we made cards, did specific reading activities had a 1 minute and 2 minute silence. We even did a practise lockdown because we need to know what do do when there is a lockdown.

Cameron Pools

Swimming 

Hello bloggers! Recently we have been going to Cameron Pools. On Tuesdays and Thursdays,  after lunch we get our togs and get on the bus. My swimming teacher is Brogan. In swimming lessons you  practise floating,  freestyle,  streamline and other swimming techniques. This week we have been doing some survival skills in the water like sculling and egg beating.  I do my swimming in the big pool. We wore life-jackets and we made chains and huddles. You get into the huddle if there are lots of people and you want to stay warm, and you do the chain when you want to move in a big group. We also played games for example, a game where there is one tagger. That tagger has to tag people, when you are tagged you lik arms with the tagger. you keep playing untill there is only one person left. We all had so much fun at Cameron Pools!

Getting to know you

Hello bloggers, I hope you had a wonderful holiday! This week we have been making a getting to know
you form. In the getting to know you form you have to add what you like, what you dislike , your
family background, what is important to your family, what you want people to know about
you, things you are good at and your friends. After you fill it in you can colour the boxes
in whatever colour you want. You also have to add your name, you can change the font as well.
You can add a picture of you in the middle. The whole senior school did this activity, it was compulsory to
finish it.
